YouTube video about Macs

Ok, this seriously almost made me pee in my pants.  I have a Mac, and while I’m normally really happy with it, I’ve had a few problems like the ones described in this video.  If you’re not a Mac person, you probably won’t find it that funny.

Another Hollywood split

Another shocker - Ryan Phillippe and Reese Witherspoon split up.  They seemed like a very strong couple, so I’m pretty surprised.  There were a lot of pregnancy rumors going around about her a few months ago.  I’m sure that more will come out on what the problem was (not that it’s any of my business).

The other day

Another entry for the Grovetionary:
“The other day”: A phrased used to describe the timeframe of an event that occurred at any point between the beginning of time and yesterday.
Example: “The other day, at my [5-year-old] niece’s baptism…” Editor’s note: the baptism actually occurred in 2001.

This is the first post of the “Grovetionary” - the Grover dictionary.
Commonlaw dating: A guy and girl who are just friends and hang out together, when one party is romantically interested, and the other is not.  The interested party hopes that by default, there will be a relationship.  (There is not.)  This tends to occur [...]

TV tonight - Las Vegas

Las Vegas returns tonight!  I’m excited - it was supposed to come back last week, but didn’t.  Boo.
Anyhow, if you’ve never watched the show, give it a shot tonight.  It’s on at 8:00 PM CST, on NBC.  At its best, it’s a well-written escapist TV show.  At its worst, it’s an enjoyable piece of fluff.  [...]

Say thanks to our troops

Thanks to Aunt Karen for forwarding a link to the Let’s Say Thanks site.  It allows you to send a postcard to one of our troops serving overseas.  I just sent one off.  It looks like it’s sponsored by Xerox.  Yay, Xerox.  I like your copy machines.

A simple pleasure

Doritos in a sandwich.  So tasty.  Today, it was CoolER Ranch (what ever happened to plain old Cool Ranch?  It wasn’t hip enough?) inside a swiss & salami sandwich.  The crunch it creates is out of this world, and one of the things that makes me very happy.

Advice to know-it-alls

Dear know-it-alls:
If you’re going to argue with me about something, at least make sure you have your facts straight.  And don’t plagiarize Wikipedia as proof of your all-encompassing knowledge.  I can do a Google search too.
Sincerely,
Lisa
P.S. I’m so embarrassed - I’ve had this post up with “plagiarize” spelled wrong for a couple of days.

Open letter to the cereal industry

To Whom It May Concern:
Please put toys back in all cereal boxes, even grown-up cereal.  That was the best part of the whole cereal experience, and it always will be.  And I don’t want a code to sign up for something on a website, don’t want a free song download.  I want a toy.  A [...]
