So the Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago and the Indianapolis Zoo have a bet going for the Superbowl. If the Bears win, the Indianapolis Zoo people have to come and clean our bear cage/house/area. If the Colts win, our Zoo peeps have to go clean out their horse stable/cage/house. How awesome is that?

Work stuff and feeling stressed
I have my first conference call with our team from Japan tonight. I get to be Lisa-san. :) Should be pretty interesting - I don’t think they have a very good grasp of English, and I’m not sure if they have a translator or just do their best speaking themselves.Â
Other than that, work is very, [...]
New Bears jersey
Tom & I went to Dick’s Sporting Goods today, because I was out in search of a Robbie Gould jersey (which is nearly impossible to find). We saw these AWESOME new Superbowl Bears jerseys, and they had a couple Gould jerseys in youth sizes - luckily, the XL kids size fit me well, so I was [...]
The Isaiah Washington debacle
Have you heard about this? Isaiah Washington, one of the actors on Grey’s Anatomy (which I don’t watch), called one of the other actors a very derogatory name on the set, which caused a fight with a third actor (who thought that Isaiah was out of line). This kind of forced the actor to come [...]
Our boys did it!!
The Bears are on their way to Miami. I’m so happy. I think I finally exhaled after we got that second TD from Jones, in the 4th quarter. How awesome was that game?Â
Now I’m watching the Patriots and the Colts duke it out for the pleasure of meeting Da Bears at the Superbowl. It’s 28-28. [...]
“End of the world” Saturday
I guess I’m just in the mood to be depressed, because I watched Armageddon earlier, and now Deep Impact is on. I’ve always had more love for Armageddon, I think because JJ Abrams wrote it, even though I didn’t know it at the time when I first saw it. I’m not a big fan of the [...]
What is this world coming to?
A California lawmaker is proposing a law against spanking your own children. Glad I don’t live there. And that I don’t have kids. I might get thrown in jail for *gasp* deciding for myself how to discipline them.
It must be winter
How do I know this? Not only due to the snow on the ground, but because I feel like crap. This usually happens every winter, where my IBS goes nuts and I get really exhausted. There’s a lot of people at work who are sick, and that doesn’t help my chances of feeling normal. I [...]
Started my new job
My first day was yesterday. I went well, but since I’m still sitting with my old group for a couple weeks until they can move me, it didn’t feel that different. More to come.Â
Please say some prayers for my Uncle Rich’s daughter Laura, who is having very serious heart surgery tomorrow. It’s supposed to be [...]
Happy MLK Day
I’m pondering freedom and equality from my couch today. I do like having this day off of work - it’s nice to have a little break so close after Christmas.Â
I don’t really have anything too terribly exciting to report right now - I feel like I’m in a bit of a rut, so I’m trying [...]
