It’s a sports-themed weekend

To kick it off, I played cricket on Friday afternoon with people from work.  It’s kind of like baseball, but different.  You hit with a paddle.  I took pictures, you can see them here.

Then, the Cubs got spanked by the Sox on Friday.  Bummer.  At least Saturday’s game was closer - if they didn’t leave so many people stranded on base, it would have been a different story altogether.  Anyhow, I’m hoping they can pull it together tonight and hand the Sox a loss on national TV (again).  I don’t want the entire series to be 3-3, I like 4-2 (in Cubs’ favor) much better.

Tom & I went to the driving range yesterday and played 9 today.  I did better than I normally do on my first time out for the year - I was hitting well with clubs that I normally have problems with.  Tom had his best round ever at that course, so I’m now afraid that he’s going to think I’m his lucky charm and force me to go golfing every weekend.  :)  That makes me think of the movie where the old guy coach says, “I have a left fielder (?) who hasn’t washed his jockey strap all season because he thinks flies are lucky!”  I can’t think of what movie that’s from - help me out here?

Finally, it’s fantasy football season!  I finally set up the league and am beginning to send out invites.  We’re trying to get all the family in first, and then will add some of our other regulars.  Fun!  We have started a tradition of having a big draft day breakfast, where everyone comes over and we chow down and then draft.  Should be a fun time again!

So that’s pretty much it.  Oh, I went to a wedding photography seminar on Saturday, it was part 2 in a series.  That’s really it.
