Tom & I were in the car yesterday when we heard this for the first time. It’s a song that Eddie Vedder (the lead singer of Pearl Jam) wrote about the Cubs at Ernie Banks’ request. Someone put together a little slideshow of photos and posted it up to YouTube. Check it out, even if you’re a Sox fan - it’s a great song.
You can download the official version of the song for $0.99 on Pearl Jam’s website.

Alright, I preface this that yes, I”m a SOX fan, but I know that there are other Cub fans out there that feels as I do. I hated the song. it sounded like a sad drunken Irish funeral song. I have this picture of Eddie being trashed out of his mind in some small dive bar on the North side crying in his beer while writing the lyrics. I’ll give you some of the other Cubs parodies and songs…they’re good. This one just wasn’t my cup of tea.
