I went out to the Waterfall Glen forest preserve today to take some pictures with my new camera. I posted a few of them on my gallery. Check them out.

Pictures look good. Looked like you were playing with shutter speed some judging from the water. Go there again when the leaves change.
Play around with the T function (controls the shutter speed) and focus on something close. Choose a shutter speed that will allow for an apperature setting of 5.6 or lower to make the background fuzzy. It cuts down on distractions when I take pictures of the boys.

Debbie - thanks - I can’t wait to come over and take pictures of Ben with it!
Sandy - I was trying to play around with some of the different settings, to see what the end result would look like. I like the difference in the waterfall in some of them - the frozen look versus the blurry look for the water. It’s pretty cool. The preset portrait mode will blur out some of the background, I just hadn’t figured out which of the advanced modes would let me do that. Thanks for the tip.
